Growth Surface Model with Non Active Sites
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this work we studied the effects of non active sites on the substrate of a growing surface. In our model a particle only sticks at the surface if the site where it falls is an active site. However, we allow the deposited particle to diffuse along the surface in accordance with some previously defined mechanism. Using Monte Carlo simulations, and some analytical results, we have investigated the model in (1+1) and (2+1) dimensions, considering different relaxation mechanisms. We show that the inclusion of non active sites is a crucial point in the model. In fact, we have observed that the saturation regime always disappears and that the values of the growth exponent β go to one, at large times, for any mechanism of diffusion we considered in one and two dimensions.

Influence of Surface Heterogeneities on Complexation of Ethylene with Active Sites of NiMCM-41 Nanocatalyst: A Density Functional Theory Study
Consecutive adsorption of ethylene molecules on different nanoclusters as representatives of the active sites of NiMCM-41 catalyst was investigated with respect to structural, topological, and energetic properties at the B3LYP/6-311+G* and M06/Def2-TZVP levels of theory. The dimeric adsorption of the ethylene molecules was found to be exothermic on all sites (adsorption enthalpies ranging from ...

Background: Active Leptospermum honey has non-peroxide antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, rendering it suitable for wound healing. Leptospermum honey is endemic in New Zealand belonging to the manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium). The objective of the present research was to compare the efficacy of manuka honey dressing with conventional dressing regarding skin graft donor sites...
متن کاملRandom deposition model with friction: Equivalent to ballistic deposition without lateral growth
The Random Deposition model is the simplest model for surface growth, where there is no correlation between the neighbor sites of the lattice. In the Ballistic deposition model, the particles stick to the first neighbor particle; thus it is used to describe the deposition of the sticky particles. However, in many true-life phenomena involving surface growth, there is no adhesion. Instead, the f...
متن کاملHydrogen adsorption by g-C3N4 and graphene oxide nanosheets
The adsorption behavior of hydrogen for synthesized graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) and graphene oxide nanosheets was compared. The structure of the prepared g-C3N4 and graphene oxide samples were studied using TEM, FT-IR spectroscopy and surface area analysis. Textural results of the prepared nanosheets show that the surface area, total pore volume, and average internal diameter of g-C3N4 an...
متن کاملAn investigation on effect of backbone geometric anisotropy on the performance of infiltrated SOFC electrodes
Design of optimal microstructures for infiltrated solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) electrodes is a complicated process because of the multitude of the electrochemical and physical phenomena taking place in the electrodes in different temperatures, current densities and reactant flow rates. In this study, a stochastic geometric modeling method is used to create a range of digitally realized infi...
